I am the least stylish person I know but I still will watch that Fashion TV channel and I often pop into Colette in Paris to see the latest styles. I have become very much more casual and I like comfort above all. Since I do alot of gardening-can't be very stylish there-then just hang around at home mostly, I'm not into clothing. I think if I had to get out each day to a job I would care more about what I am wearing but as I only have myself to please-my husband doesn't seem to notice on the whole-I've drifted into no style at all.

I find lately when I am at Anthropologie I search and search for some of the more simple yet still unique and stylish pieces that Anthro used to have and now I am finding them less and less.
I love those street pics they used to take, I have one of my mom and grandpa, I love it!

I am thinking that your mom and my mom wore the same shoes in the 60's!! My mom was so stylish (i.e. Jackie O) back then too. I completely understand your fashion "evolution". I look at the Satorialist all the time too and I wonder why my mornings are so different, that I can't seem to look as interestingly put together as these people. I realized at one point that I was never happy when I focused on looking like everyone else, but more on what I really liked and then I was more confident in myself. I wish someone would design women's clothing in sizing varieties like men's. I think we would like our clothing much better if it fit well and we didn't have to depend on good tailoring to make it fit. It's okay to have fun with color too-- the Europeans, esp. the French, understand color on themselves much better than we do!
