It became so ingrained in me as just something that you do - as instinctively as separating whites from darks in the wash - that it literally makes me cringe when I see people not recycle. Of course now that I'm teaching my own kids ways to take care of the environment, it goes a lot further than recycling, but I'll always be thankful to my mom for instilling in me the inherent need to care for our earth.
